Job Summary:
The Contracts Manager is responsible for the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable regulations as it relates to government contracting. This role requires a deep understanding of DOD contracting processes, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in drafting, negotiating and managing contracts within the Dept of Defense (DOD) industry.
Job Duties/Responsibilities (List not all inclusive):
- Oversees the lifecycle of the company’s government contracts, from proposal to close out, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Facilitates contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions
- Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and associated regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and other relevant guidelines)
- Ensures contracts are administered and monitored to maintain compliance with the terms of agreements
- Identifies and mitigates contractual risks, providing strategic advice to senior management
- Prepares, reviews, and maintains all contractual documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Works closely with project managers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure contract terms are met and project goals are achieved
- Generates regular reports on contract status, performance metrics, and compliance issues for senior management
- Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to align contract processes with strategic goals
- Proficient in federal contracting processes to include Dept. of Defense (DoD)
- Proficient in federal budgetary processes to include funding types
- Knowledgeable in state/local funding processes Adept at meeting deadlines and scheduling and managing tasks effectively
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and rapport building skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Adept at meeting deadlines and scheduling and managing tasks effectively
- Skilled with assessing and mitigating risk and maintaining cost control
- In-depth understanding of DoD contracting regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
- Highly proficient in using MS Office Suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint,)
- Proficient with contract management software
- Meets U.S. citizenship and work eligibility requirements for federal contractors
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited college or university) in Business Administration, Law, or a related field required, master's preferred
- Minimum 8 years’ proven contracts management experience
- DoD related experience preferred (may include military, civil service, or defense contracting)
- Contracts certifications (i.e., Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) preferred
