Job Summary: 

Seeking an innovative and dedicated Graphic Designer to join our growing unit. You will collaborate with a team to create eye-catching and effective images and campaigns to increase our customer base.  

You will manage the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos. You will shape the visual aspects of our websites, social media profiles, brochures, newsletters, exhibitions and more. The job duties include (but is not limited to) developing graphics both for print and digital platforms that enhance our accompanying text and convey an accurate message. The graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, a creative flair and strong ability to translate requirements into design is required. Our ideal candidate has a substantial portfolio of successful campaigns and is proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Quark Xpress, Photoshop, etc. 

Job Duties (Please note: this list is not all inclusive and may change with/without prior notice: 

  • Translate client needs and branding strategies into design strategies 

  • Design visual concepts using graphic design tools including design software 

  • Select colors, fonts, photographs, layouts, and other design elements to communicate creative concepts 

  • Collaborate with front end developers, marketing, content, and other professionals to create media 

  • Articulate and pitch design concepts to clients and other end users 

  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand 

  • Schedule projects and define budget constraints  

  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements  

  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas  

  • Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software  

  • Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic  

  • Work with director and his/her designee to produce final design  

  • Test graphics across various media  

  • Study design briefs and determine requirements  

  • Implement feedback and changes when appropriate 

  • Implement Quality Assurance designs for errors  

  • Other job duties as assigned by the Program Lead 

Skills / Qualifications/Competencies: 

  • Solid knowledge of design and visual principles  

  • Experience with both print and electronic media 

  • Demonstrated portfolio showing creative, design and software skills (portfolio submission required) 

  • Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the client's needs in mind 

  • Ability to communicate design choices clearly  

  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)  

  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details  

  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines  

  • Time management and organizational skills  

  • Exceptional creativity and innovation  

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field is a plus 

  • Minimum of 8 years professional experience as graphic designer 

  • Proven graphic design experience 

  • A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics  

  • Portfolio of extensive designs used in successful marketing campaigns 

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Quark Xpress, and Photoshop
